Express: Climate Change Is A Fraud To Raise Taxes

HSF,
I can't believe that I agree with you on this!
IMHO AGW is a false ideology utilised by certain sections of society, whose previous ideologies have proven to be unworkable. Or as my mother would say, they or on the bandwagon!
However, energy security and sustainable population levels are real problems that must be addressed.
A lot of this stuff is open to opinion, and many will have a different one from me, and that is fine. However there are some cold hard facts that can't be desputed, climate change will disrupt our way of living for sure, opinions come in when asked 'is it us causing it ?'
Mankind is going to have challenges other than climate change to it's current type of existance far sooner than 50 years, a glimpse we have already seen in the last couple of years.0 -

Here is a brief example, 9000 years ago just after the Ice Age the average temperature was 15 degrees C higher than now, and it shot up to this in avery short amount of time. During the Ice Age Scotland and Northern England were under 2km of ice and you easily walk to France, the English Channel did not exist. The North Atlantic conveyor belt that keeps us warmer than say Moscow is (we are at the same latitude) also switched off.
Neither of these huge shifts in climate were anything to do with people not switching their TV's off stand by.0 -
As HSF suggetsed, the real problem is resource depletion and overpopulation.
The solution is to reduce consumption and this requires a lowering of everyone's living standards to almost third world levels.
But because politicians are lying f*cking thieves who only care about remaining in office, none of them will actually say this for fear of losing votes.
Climate change is the trojan horse by which they can tax us and pretend that we are doing it to save the planet.
We are on the verge of monumental changes to our way of life on a par with the industrial revolution. Only this time we are going backwards.
In the meantime, while we are talking about this problem, the biggest bank robbery in history is taking place right under our noses."The problem with quotes on the internet is that you never know whether they are genuine or not" -

QFT. I remember Brown telling the Saudis last year to 'pump more oil' when the price was hitting $140+. He is an imbecile, the Saudis were flat out at more than 9.5 million barrels a day, they couldn't pump any more.
Did he really believe the Saudis could just pump more (thick bas*ard) or did he know they couldn't but had to say something anyway (lying bas*ard). Either way it shows politicians cannot be trusted on this subject.0 -

Brown an imbecile, who'd have thought it ?

About time newspapers starting printing the truth for a change.
I've never went with this "climate change is all our fault thing".
It's a convenient con and is going to happen whatever we do.
HammerSmashedFace just want to say I agree with you 100%.0 -

That is understood.
However can it not be argued that man's actions are contributing towards so-called climate change ? The amount of carbon dioxide that is being pumped into the atmosphere for instance combined with deforestation ?
I am not being an apologist for climate change here I just want to understand the facts as they seem to be in short supply. Especially by the proponents of climate change. It is all rather emotive stuff like melting ice caps or manipulated figures or sensational headlines. All bad weather seems to be a symptom of climate change but we have always had bad weather. The issue is are we contributing to it ?
I am sure politicians have jumped on a bandwaggon to use the environment to raise taxes from a compliant, spoon fed, public especially when every news report across all channels continually talks about man made climate change as fact.
However that does not mean there may not be a kernel of truth in it."There's no such thing as Macra. Macra do not exist."

Like I say, it's all open to interpretation. We talk of deforestation, however if we look at the distant past when there was say a Super Volcano eruption (and there have been many), almost all life was wiped out including vegetation, yet look where we are now. Climate change will and is happening but it always has, and it's been a lot more extreme than a flood in Cumbria, which the climate change police are trying to tell me it's because I drive a car.0 -
HammerSmashedFace just want to say I agree with you 100%
What ?? Even the Peak Oil rubbish 'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -
