Credit checks wit Sky or Virgin

Hi,
I want to take up the good deals that Sky or Virgin are offering, however my credit rate is poor. Could I still sign up with one of them? Do they run credit checks?

Not unless you live in very dodgy areas.(ie bedsit/student areas where the tennants often leave without paying the final bill,but it's very rare)

Don't know about Virgin but Sky don't. At the end of the day if you didn't pay they would just switch it off.

Virgin run credit checks on everyone. If you are classed as a poor risk, they ask for a deposit of at least £100 upfront. If good risk then there is no deposit upfront.

Well they did'nt when I worked for them! Only in the basis I quoted.But I guess armchair warriors always know better than those who worked for the company concerned.

i have also worked for telewest/ntl/virgin and also sky and they have always done a credit check where sky dont now im going back 7-8 years here so not an armchair warrior
