Financial hardship stuff I can do with my eyes closed but the non hardship cases are more difficult and we are kinda back to the beginnings of the bank charges campaign. It's scary and it's frightening but at the same time it is exciting and thrilling. The battle is ongoing and we will see where it will end.
A couple of months have passed since my last post and I feel ready to continue the fight, but not sure if things have changed much since then....any ideas where to go from here? Any advice on going to court? I dont want to just forget about it0 -

Their silence is deafening on this topic.
They've posted the same day about their win at the Scottish Care Accolades that took place on Friday afternoon.
I wonder if their lack of any comment so far about the court case is an indication they didn't get the same result in court?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

The fact the bank haven't either commented may not suggest what you are saying because if GLC had lost they most certainly would have made sure the press knew about it so likelihood is as I have posted below. I am sure we will find out in due course. Did you read that article btw?

Thanks for posting the GLC website cos it saves me having to do it again and again and again and again. I hope no one asks until they have actually posted up the decision.0 -
I think the Govan case has been put back a bit as the banks wanted to make it a non small claims case. I'm sure we'll hear when it's happened*** Get the Martin's Money Tips Free E-mail at www.moneysavingexpert.com/tips ***0

You mean this is an example of where the bank applied to have the case re-allocated out of the small claims track?
(and presumably the judge has agreed to that application)
I believe the amount being claimed is £750 (at least that is what the BBC said in it's report)
NWSM was looking for such an example earlier, thanks"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Many thanks for the update Wendy.
I know a lot of people and forums are keeping a keen eye on Govan Law Centre and Mike Dailley's cases. Please ignore those people who post on this forum who deliberately try to misinform you. Don't be bullied by them, don't be blamed by them. You know who I mean.
You come here for advice, help and support- thats what I and like minded others will try to do.0 -
Hello All
I still have 4 court cases on hold (from 2007) but there is movement. Tomorrow at noon I have a Telephone Conference with the Court, Barclays, and their Solicitors. It is a Directions Hearing. Unfortunately I have been out of the loop for a few years now, so my questions are....
Do I stand by the initial arguments of the charges being unlawfully high?
Do I bring up the new arguments?
- just looking they seam to be similar to the originals as in... "The charges were (or had the potential to be) excessive and punitive in comparison with the costs to the bank caused by my conduct which triggered the charges."
Should I mention that I am now in a position of hardship, being unemployed for almost 2 years?
All help, advice, and links gratefully received
