GMail -Any Good?

I have been using Gmail since sept 04 . I have a copy of all my business emails sent there as well as being sent to outlook on my laptop.
Basically it serves as a backup of all my outlook mail which gives me peace of mind but I dont think I could make the switch to only use gmail full time as I still dont think it is as easy to use as outlook.
Perhaps I am just more used to the way outlook works.
Advantages for me are -
I can check work mail wherever I am.
Spam filter works really well, best I have used.
Search facility is great - way quicker than Outlook - and means you dont have to mess about with folders. Just file it away.0 -
Can someone point me in the direction of the gmail notifier please. Tried doing a search within firefox addons. Thanks0

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/173/
but the official one will work when Firefox isn't running:

Please stop using the word "of" when you actually mean "have" - it's damned annoying :mad:0 -
I have gmail and Freeserve mail. Gmail opens a lot quicker, so that in itself is worth having it for.I'm Glad to be here... At my age I'm glad to be anywhere!!

Love Gmail! :happyhear
I have several accounts, each one is for separate functions i.e. Online shopping registrations, Gamesite registrations, Personal, etc. One for places like this too
.
The archive function is great and you can use a keyword to search for any email that you remember sending or receiving. The spam filter is brilliant too! I wish my ISP would do half as much in that line.
I also use GoogleTalk all the time ( with a microphone - free phone call style) and most of my extended family keep in touch across the continents with it. You need a Gmail account to use GoogleTalk....a microphone is optional as you can just use the IM function if preferred.0 -

I also have outlook configured to collect my gmail , so I can read my gmail via outlook and use outlook to send my gmail messages.
real handy bonus of this set up is that anything gmail moves to it's spam folder doesn't reach my outlook
I love it. I set up my IE to send dups to Gmail for backup, really handy as I can read my IE mail on my gmail account when I'm out and about.0 -
