AOL windows 7 wireless connection

Has anybody any idea why my new laptop with windows 7 keeps crashing the internet connection? Was using old laptop with Vista without any problems for 4 years. Router is a D-Link, have replaced all cables, router & technician has checked phone line, everything passes. I have spent the last 3 weeks tearing my hair out over this, any ideas ?

What actually happens, as in what do you mean by "crashes" the internet connection.

Have you tried the laptop on another router? Have you got the latest drivers, updates and BIOS? Have you tried one of these cheap dongles to see the results? www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000CC3ZFS/ref=pd_luc_mri?_encoding=UTF8&m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

You'll have to post far more info to get help too. And when I say more I mean EVERYTHING about your setup and there's no point saying how things used to be 4 years ago :)

    Everything.

I use Windows 7 for wireless networking and the internet (notebook and desktop PCs) and it all works fine. Also works with mobile internet dongle (vodafone).

However, I am not using AOL.

Obviously 99.99999% of people with computers running windows 7 work fine with the internet and with AOL, there's something wrong with THIS setup but without more details it can't be explained.
  • I use Windows 7 and have AOL as my isp with a netgear router. Recently I have suffered quite a few connection drops.

We need to know about the problem.
