There are currently two cheap iTunes gift card deals on enabling you to get more iTunes than you pay for.
- Pay £20 get a £25 card at the Co-op. The Co-Operative supermarket will have this deal on instore nationwide from 4-10 December.
- Pay £22.50 and get a £30 of iTunes card at Tesco. If you buy one £15 iTunes gift card at Tesco you get the second one half price meaning you pay £22.50 for £30 worth of card. This is confirmed to be available in most Tesco stores nationwide and ends 9 December. It's not available online.
Why has the info has changed?
Originally we had pay £20 for £25 of iTunes from Tesco listed in the email. We knew this from reports from MoneySavers and we'd tested it ourselves - it worked. As noted earlier we were waiting for Tesco to confirm this deal but it was slow to get back - so we were asking people to check before buying.
It's since been confirmed the deal ended last night and the new buy one get one half price deal started today. You will see some feedback below that the deal didn't work - that refers to the £20 for £25 deal.

My local tesco says that they wont scan it as scanning the card activates it.0
-
My other half just ended up buying it in my Chelmsford store and he paid £25 because they couldnt scan it because they have to break the plastic card to scan, just thought I would let others know0
-
I went into York Tesco this (Wednesday 2 Dec) morning.
The lady on the desk kindly checked the price of a £25 iTunes voucher for me (they do have to break the card off its carrier to do this, so if you don't buy it they have wasted a card - fortunately she was happy to do this).
They were showing the price as £25 - so no discount.0 -
Rubbish!!!0

Maybe this is only in selected store (s)?I Hate Jobsworths!!!0

I would also be wary of doing this until confirmed or any POS on display.
Tried to buy 2 on Sunday but only one scanned with the £5 off and the other was full price so didn't continue to buy.
Hope MSE can get some clarification as do want some for Xmas pressies :T0 -
Certainly not worth the risk at Tesco, but The Co-operative is doing the same promotion and actually promoting it in store - it starts this Friday: http://www.marketingmagazine.co.uk/news/971385/Co-operative-launches-iTunes-Christmas-promotion/
Maybe someone can add this in the top post as well as a Tesco/Co-operative offer, since Co-operative's may be more local to some.0 -
is this a con, so you try to buy a £25 iTunes card for £20 but end up paying £25 anyway. If Tesco are not promoting this then is it just a mistake on their till system where someone accidently paid £20. Like when you pay with a £10 note and they give you change for a £20 note instead?
How can you display these offers if they are not verified Martin? Is this just to draw people into Tesco????0 -

Why on earth would I want to draw people into tesco?
The reason we did it is we had lots of contact from MoneySavers for whom it works - and we tried it and it works. And we've written in detail the exact situation.
Sadly Tesco is being slow to confirm whether its true or not - but there is no doubt we paid £20 for a £25 card. Looking through the feedback it seems most people aren't having such luck (I see someone has)
However glad to see the Co-Op doing it too - we will add that to the top thread.
And keep you updated on what Tesco said when it (eventually) deigns to reply.Martin Lewis, Money Saving Expert.
