Hi,
Can you advise plse. I'm currently with virgin media (used to be ntl), paying £30 per month for xl tv, phone and broadband (got a special deal long time ago). I have to change the name of the act now as was in ex partners name which will cost me £20 to do straight away.
So I was wondering if it would be cheaper to move elsewhere now as its no longer a fixed contract and it would be nice to get some cashback as well. But my problem is, my phone line is cable. Do I have to have a BT line first before I can consider going somewhere else?
Sorry its a daft question.
Thanks

Yes, you do. Only Virgin Media use cable delivery, all other broadband services are ADSL based and use a BT line.
You can currently get free connection to BT, but this will require you to contract to 18m line rental. Otherwise it's £122 for connection. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Ouch. May have to reconsider staying where I am.
Thanks for the info.0
