Hi there I really hope that someone can help me? I have just checked my online banking as I noticed that I was going really overdrawn and have just noticed that I have not been paid for the last 2 weeks any income support! They have missed 19th and 26th of November Payments! Please help me with what to do as I hate speaking on the phone- Why would they have done this?!!!

You may hate speaking to them on the phone but it is something you need to do to get this sorted out; its not going to happen without you contacting them.
Do you have a friend or relative that you can pass the phone to once you have gone through the security bits??
Or you could go to your jobcentre plus office tomorrow am.0 -
Thank you for your reply it is just one of these things and I know it sounds silly but I just have such a fear of using the phone!!! I always think the worst and I just don't know how they could not pay me for two weeks? I have never heard of them forgetting payments.0

There will be a reason why but without speaking to them you will never know...0

The payments are usually system issued and go out automatically. If they have stopped it is unlikely to be because someone forgot. I appreciate your distaste of the phone, I share it, but you have to do it or get someone to do it on your behalf.chinesedeli wrote: »Thank you for your reply it is just one of these things and I know it sounds silly but I just have such a fear of using the phone!!! OP you will need to speak first so they can verify who you are then someone else might be able to speak on your behalf.0

Not strictly true. The DWP have a guide on implicit consent which states that information can be given when its clear the representative is acting on the claimants behalf.OP you will need to speak first so they can verify who you are then someone else might be able to speak on your behalf.

Thank you for all of your replies they are much appreciated as always. Its lovely to be able to put my concerns on here and to just have someone to reply to them. Anyway I phoned and could not get through to anyone as the office was closed. I am just so worried and I just dont know what the problem is as I have not done anything wrong and I have not even had a letter to explain why etc. I have checked my rent account online and that is all paid so my Housing Benefit is still going I just really do not kno wwhat is going on and is just making me worried as I am so overdrawn.0

Hi,
Sorry if this sounds patronising, not intended at all, but are you sure you have not received any correspondence from them telling you about changes to you payments? They are currently transferring all IS claims from weekly payments to fortnightly payments (mine is currently changing over now) so my last payment of £64.30 was on Mon 23rd, the next was £36.75 on 30/11 and I do not have another payment now for 11 days which will be on a Fri for £128.6 and my payments will be every other Friday then.
Just an idea but otherwise I couldn't say what the problem could be.Smoke Free since 03/08/20090 -
Thank you Gizmo, no I have not recieved any letters from them saying anything to me about any changes. I had no idea that they are changing them- does this effect everyone? My last payment was on 12th of November! I wish that I had noticed earlier and checked my online banking as I would have phoned up and been more sensible with my money (not starting my Xmas pressie shopping).
Anyway would that sound about right to you not being paid since the 12th? Thank you again x0 -
gizmo, I was going to suggest the same thing. My payments altered a few weeks ago, from weekly to fortnightly. I believe the payment date is now based on the last two digits of your NI number, with 00-20 being paid on a Monday. My numbers are in that section and I was already receiving IS on Mondays, so it was fairly straightforward for me. I just missed a week and then received two weeks money on the second week.
If the last two digits had been higher than 00-20, my payment date would have changed and it is possible that I would have had more than two weeks between payments.
Also, I believe that some people are paid IS in advance, whilst the rest of us were paid weekly in arrears. Everyone is going over to fortnightly in arrears, so anybody currently paid a week in advance will have a longer switchover period (I don't know how it will work to bridge the gap, but maybe somebody who is more knowledgable than me can tell us)
I don't know if you can get a loan to help you out if this is what has happened.
Good luck x0
