IB medical

I am currently on IB, I was signed off for 12 months at the end of Dec 08 so presumably I am due a medical of some description?
Is there a different procedure when it is a review or something? my condition hasn't improved, if anything it's worse.
Also will it continue to be IB even though it has changed to ESA or whatever it's called?
Just want to be informed of what to expect.
Regards...

You will probably be sent an IB50 to complete and may have a medical after that if they need more information.
You will continue to be tested under the IB regulations until people are migrated over to ESA - this has not started yet.0 -
Thanks Healy, so the process is the same as when I had my first medical last year, ie - I just fill in an IB50 and wait to hear what they say?
I thought there may be another procedure for those already claiming long term IB, if not then it makes things a bit clearer.0 -

Yes it is the same process.0 -
Is there a current waiting period for a medical after completetion of the IB50? I read somewhere they are snowed under and it may take a while, I expect to be called in for one because my problem is mental health rather than physical.0

No there is no set time that you have to wait, it could be a few weeks or it could be a few months or even longer.0 -
I was told by DWP that there is a delay in the processing of IB50 forms. I sent mine back in May 2009 and have yet to receive a reply or request to attend a medical. My own condition is severe, but I would have imagined that I might have received a firm answer as to where the current process lies. So, do expect delays.0

Last I heard IB cases will not migrate to ESA until 2011.0

I had not heard of a change from migration starting in 2010, but maybe NASA is better informed.0

I'm pretty content that I am right with the date though. There isnt even a whisper of anything happening at the minute which you would expect there to be if it was happening in 2010 because it will take ages to switch people from one to the other.
Stazi seems quite well informed in this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=256058330
