I'm not usually cynic but I simply do not believe this.

if you dress smartly, maybe wear a suitably coloured tie, people might think your more important than you really are

Contact your PM in writing saying that despite several attempts on your part uniform has not been supplied, (as per contractual agreement) and that you will need written authorisation from the store to continue to wear your own clothes and a reason why the company has broken their own T&C's.
Bet you get uniform pretty quick
(info from another forum I use)
thank you that is what i am going to do what is my pm ?0 -
If you can't find a Tesco one get an Asda or Morrisons one, wear that for a day and Tesco will either sack you or supply a Tesco one, problem solved:j.0

lol i have to wear black trousers and a white shirt and im the only one that weres theses
To me that would be a win. Customers will assume you are far more important (management) than you are.
Enjoy it whilst it lasts
oops should really read all the post before posting sorry edex...:(0 -
I've worked in a place where someone actually did what you are planning to do - provide their own uniforms.
Got a final warning. You may like to check that what you are doing is okay with the bosses.0 -

Tescos have a policy of providing uniforms after a set period of employment, not straight away, simply because if someone is sacked or leaves after a few weeks they don't need to pay for the uniform. 5 months is not unacceptable for Tescos in terms of uniform, it is to cut costs without cutting costs so to speak - they do reduce the quality (hmm maybe) of the uniform but only provide it to staff who have completed the probation/training period within the store.
