Residential Parking Dispute

Hi there,
Looking for some advise please.
I live in a residential development with allocated parking bays (as defined in my title deeds). My neighbour consistently parks in my bay, and the initial friendly requests to refrain, have provoked numerous nasty and horrible responses (which I wont get into). She still, at most opportunities, will park in the bay if I'm out. Even today, while my wife was out in the car, this neighbour actually went to the bother of putting on jacket to go outside to re-park her car in my bay (obviously thought nobody was at home).
What can I do? Do I speak to the developments property/management agent, the local council, the police? Do I have the right to have her car towed away at her expense?
It really annoyes me that we often have to park in the visitors bay some distance away, and with the current rubbish weather, the in and out of home with our young daughter from school, activities, etc, and other day-to-day life, makes it all so inconvenient - especially when we own the bay.
Appreciate any input. Thanks in advance
Gazza

  • Speak to the property management firm if there is one, and see what they can do. Legally I believe that if she parks there she is trespassing...

well if it states its your space on the land registry documents then its exactly that, your space, have a word with her and say its your space. its like driving up somebody elses driveway to park there, its not on.

Im not sure who to go to about this though

have a word, if she does it again id try the developers first, then the council, and possibly CAB too.....
    Back by no demand whatsoever.

Can you not show her a photocopy of the title deeds? This happens to me a lot, although I don't have the option of a visitor space to fall back on. I think your only other realistic recourse is with the managing agency. I don't think the police or council will want to get involved - even if they had any authority.

Good luck. When it happens to me (usually only about once a month a so, and usually a 'visitor' of another flat in my block - so not a repeat offender), I put a copy of the allocated car park plan in the car window wipers so they are aware not to do it again. The trouble is that, as there is no visitor space, I then have to go in someone else's space - and on one occasion the owner of that space then parked behind me. It meant I had to get the train to work the following day as I was trapped.

can you not do this to the person parking in your spot?? park behind them so they are trapped and have to ask you to release their car????

Unfortunately not, I'd restrict, and in some cases prevent, access to others....

I didn't because that would have effectively blocked two people in because of the position of my space. It would have blocked in the car right next to my space as well (which is by a wall).

When I went into the empty space it was quite late and I was hoping they wouldn't return that night.

My bay is closer and more convenient to her home than her own bay, but at the same time my own bay is also the closest to my home (if that makes sense):rotfl:
