Help Error Message!

Hi all
I bought a new pc a couple of months back and ever since whenever I turn it on I get the following message....
Error box saying

cannot find a file necessary to continue Virtual Truck Setup:
F:\installs\TeraUSB\VTruck2.exe

I just keep clicking on ok to get rid of it......but what does it mean and how do I get rid of it? Does it mean there's a problem with my pc?

Thanks in advance. ;)

    Is it a Dell computer?

This seems to be a common problem.

Try..............Click Start>Run, type in msconfig (exactly as in bold) then hit enter
, a box will appear, click the startup tab (at the top). If you see an entry "run= involving \vtagent\reboot.exe", then untick it.
Click apply then OK to exit. You need to restart the computer for this to take effect (the computer will tell you).

reinstall the "TeraUSB" file, restart and delete it from add/remove in controlpanel or delete using its uninstall file if it has one

If the problem is starting this program, and is not needed. Reinstalling will only continue the problem.

Stopping it starting at bootup will do the job.

    Hi
Rex I did as you suggested & restarted but the error message still comes up.
It's not a Dell....bought it from gladiator computers. They set it up for us as we upgraded to 2x250 gb hard drives and upgraded sound card. Skiddy...I can't find the TeraUSB file anywhere....don't know how to reinstall it never mind anything else:rotfl:

Can you find any different entries similar to Tera USB or truck2 in your msconfig menu?

What ISP do you use to connect to the internet. What modem do you you use to connect?

    Thanks Rex
There is VTAgentReboot as you mentioned but no entries similar to Tera USB or Truck2. We use ntl broadband (modem as supplied by them) Any ideas?

Try unticking this one in the menu. After rebooting the computer, it will either work (and this wont appear), or it will stop you connecting to the net.

If it stops you connecting, just go back and put the tick back in the box. A reboot will put back the changes once again.

    Let us know.

Ok....I unticked VTAgentReboot...clicked apply & rebooted as directed. The error box still comes up and I now have in addition to the error box, the System Configuration Utility box saying its currently in Diagnostic or Selective startup mode causing this message to be displayed & the utility to run every time windows starts. It says to choose normal startup to start windows normally & undo changes or tick the the box don't show this message or launch the system configuration utility when windows starts.

    What do I do?

Oh...I can still connect to internet btw

    This was unexpected!!!

Go back and put the tick back. At least you will only have the one error message.

    I'll come back to you.
