    No, it isn't.

The specific offence relates to paying by cheque when you know it will not be honoured.

Since a cheque guarantee card, err, guarantees it WILL be honoured it is not an offence.

    But it's still incredibly stupid.

So hes not defrauding the bank then no?

I know someone in prison for doing just this, albeit on a grander scale than needing some boxes from Argos. The judge was tough because he had used the card to guarantee funds that he knew were not in the account and also that there was no money anywhere else to pay it off. Therefore it was deemed he had intentionally deprived the bank of the money with no intention of making reparation.

    yikes.

It was more than £12 though?

You said 'grander scale' - that is just downright theft!!!

But I suppose £12 is theft.

News: I have credited my current account with £50 - there are enough funds to cover this.

I was just curious as to what would happen if I didn't pay (I know.. curiousity killed the cat..)

Another tip - you can use cheques to buy vouchers (e.g. £20 vouchers x 5)

May stores give change in cash (ask the store BEFORE buying)

Then go and buy something for 50p or something and get £19.50 change.

A great way to get money

(just kidding - it's a dumb way - you will be fined a squillion pounds and it is abount the dumbest thing anyone could do)

Are you on drugs? If you aren't I suggest you see a doctor and get some.

Mr. Maloney, I am dreaming that someone could track your location via your I.P. address and report you to the appropriate authorities.
Regardless I hope the banks or whoever want their money back are going to study your 'history' very carefully and come to an 'appropriate' decision. Stashing your MP3 players and cash from tesco vouchers in storage box's paid through fraudulant means ain't going to help you then!

There seems to be free internet where I am . There's a network called NETGEAR - you can connect to it with no password. I've had free broadband for 6 months - it's great.

I am only joking - really.
