If I'm overdrawn will my cheque garauntee card still work

Hi. I am totally overdrawn, way past my limits .. and will probably go for bankruptcy soon

I was wondering... I want to buy some storage boxes from argos for £12 - will my '£100 cheque gaurantee card' work?

I mean.. what's to stop me (or a thief) using the same card ten times in a row.. they could defraud a bank out of a grand just like that...

I'm just curious.. and confused..

Writing a cheque with no funds to cover it is technically fraud, as far as I recall.

When I worked for a bank, it was a sackable offence. And most likelythey won't renew your card.

    Don't do it!

is it worth taking a serious look at your spending and trying to sort your debt out, rather than continuing to spend money with bankrupcy as the only option? there are so many people on this site who can help you make the best of your situation, rather than helping you get further into debt......

why do you need to buy storage boxes?

can you not ask around at supermarkets and shops and the like for boxes?

at work, we couldnt get rid of them fast enough...we used to cut them down (ie, but through the tape holding them together) so they coudl fit in the bins, but if anybody came round asking for them we were only too happy to give them as many as they wanted...all they had to have was a load of parcel tape...maybe that is an option for you?

Ryan I have read and replied to some of your other posts BUT using a cheque knowing full well you don't have funds is fraud.
    What a !!!!!!!
Why don't you go to any shop and ask for cardboard boxes - they won't cost you a penny!!

Well then, what is the point of a cheque gaurantee card?

btw, I went round to Tesco a couple of times... at first they said they'd give me boxes just after 11pm, after the delivery.

    Is this really fraud?

could I , erm, go to jail for this?

Erm, thanks.. I've been a bit silly... man I should stop being so impulsive..

to show that you actually have the account that the cheque is taking money from. your cheque book and guarentee card should never be kept in the same place (except obviously when you plan to use them!) so that it is more unlikely that they will both get stolen..............

at any rate, the card is not meant to be a way of spending money you don't have - the cheque will only bounce and you will have to pay a fee.

i really think you are well overdue a lightbulb moment about money!
