Hi Im looking to book accomodation for next May for Bristol.
I visit yearly for a vegan festival and have always booked the Travelodge and paid the sale rate. As much as I love a bargin it is the only Travelodge I have concerns about - last year there were many rowdy guests there and the security is not great being a single female. My friend had his room broken into and reviews on Tripadvisor are scary.
So Im thinking of booking elsewhere next year.
Thinking Ibis by at Bristol or one of the central Premier Inns.
Has anyone stayed in these?
At the moment Ive found the King Street Premier inn at £112 for 2 nights and the Haymarket one for £104 2 nights. I cant see going on a Fri and Sat Il get much cheaper than that. Ibis is a bit more expensive.
I have no idea which is the best or even if serviced apartments are worth looking at and maybe sharing with a friend - but I do like my own room.
Id also need somewhere with left luggage ideally for my last day - not sure on Premier inns take on this?
Other option is a b&b but most of these are a mile out of town and Id like to be central for safety and not having to pay for taxis.
Any comments/ideas would be great - thanks in advance:D

I have only been to Bristol once and we stayed in the Ibis, it was very new and we had a good experience, it wasn't too expensive if I recall correctly.0

I have used the City Inn on Temple Way a few times and have been impressed by the room, staff & food. As a buisness hotel their weekend rates may appeal. At times any combination of my spelling, grammar or punctuation may be incorrect. Please do not pick me up for this as, after all, it is only an internet forum.0

I recently stayed in Bristol in a place called 'Lodge on the Park'. (I cant post a link but google it
)
It was travelodge standard (if not better!) and costs £49 a night. It wasnt far from central Bristol. It has a Starbucks attached to it which offers food as well as your coffees!Comping since March 2014.
Wins so far: 28 bars of chocolate. Diggerland Voucher.0 -
Where is 24/7?
There are a few B&Bs close to where the Vegan Fayre is - Coronation Road, just the other side of the harbour, but I don't know what the quality is like.
Friend stayed in the Ibis, no complaints at all.0 -

Just Googled it, it's miles from central Bristol so the OP would need a car or taxi. Taxi to there would be at least £15.0 -

24seven is near Coronation road by the b&b's, think about 10 - 15 mins walk to the festival - just not sure what its like walking back from town late at night on my own. Bit of a treck to the station but am sure I can get a bus. 24 seven hotel has a kitchen for food and a fridge in all rooms and asda nearby - useful as I never book breakfasts - not a lot of vegan options!
Need to google the postcodes for the King St and Haymarket premier inns see whats near to the centre.
Ibis is right by the festival.Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

King St Premier Inn is very close to the centre, you just walk through Queens Sq to get to it. The Haymarket on is a bit further away and a walk past the main shopping area but it is next to the bus station.
I personally wouldnt walk back to Coronation Rd in the dark, late at night on my own, its a bit dimly lit but thats just me!
I've found the King St PI and the Ibis to be very good, and very close to the centre.0 -

Thanks if I go for the P.I Id go for King St looks much closer to where the festival is and the train station.
I like the sound of the 24Seven hotel but it does look like a 15 min walk across a footbridge and up Coronation St so maybe not the safest bet!
Need to find out if P.I have got left luggage facility - It's a pain in Bristol trying to store luggage:rolleyes:Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

Hi Alison,
I work on Coronation Road in Bristol, this is a very safe area. The Centre is about a 10 / 15 minute walk, but it is a busy area day and night. There a number of B&B's along the road and as they are all small private ones I'm sure they would be happy to keep your luggage safe for the day. Temple Meads station would be about a 35 minute walk, or a short taxi journey.0
