Does anyone just stop and think about phones?
My goodness, look at how thin phones have become. You can get phones now that are thinner than the depth of your fingers. My smartphone is as thick as my thumb and it connects to the internet and does all these cool things. It's a mobile phone, internet+email device, music player, camera all in one gadget and you can download all these apps and games. It's like a small computer. It fascinates me nearly everyday. Let's hear your comments!

I'm not even that 'old' and when mobiles first came out commercially I had one that had one line of text that you had to wait scrolling across to read a text - was murder!
It fascinates me to see how far they have come so quickly, but also scares me as to what will be available in 10 years time, and then I really will feel old! i.e the kids I teach in school have no idea what a 'video' is (vhs) which is quite a scary thought!

I totally agree, I never cease to be amazed that something so small can do such wonderful things. Having said that my last phone had many times the capability of my first computer.
And hands up......I've realised I'm a phone snob :-))0 -
Can't wait to use my phone as a credit/Debit card.
(Mode of Payment:touch your Phone for payment)......:cool:MSE IS AN ADDICTION0 -
Remember them first coming out (away from London). They were MASSIVE! Used to have an old Ericsson and my sis had a Motorola that was HUGE! And the first flip ones were damn near the same size they are now! Used to have the Alcatel with the slide down cover for the keys and the aerial that had to be pulled out and extended to get better signal. Was on Vodafone for my first phone and remember mine going down the loo and using this old Ericsson that had one line of text!
Now it's still big, but touchscreen AND an MP3 player (Walkmans when I were a nipper - tapes - still saw the big old 8 tracks in some cars though) AND a digital camera - got moaned at for using the film one!** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

Does anybody remember seeing the comedy Bread when mobiles first came out. Was it Billy, the one who was a jack-the-lad, he had a mobile that was the size of a house brick and had a big aerial, he had to go outside to use it.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.
