Save money for next Christmas

Options
DON'T throw your Christmas Cards away. Recycle them or better still save money and reuse them as Christmas parcel gift tags.

Start be cutting them into reasonable shapes using scissors. Best way is to get them scissors that have a serrated edge so you leave an impression of triangle around the edges of the cards.

Saves a few quid for next year :D

Didnt realise these cost much, not sure what they are called. Wife uses them for sowing doubt she would pay much for them she's always on the lookout for buying stuff cheap.

They cost £3.90 okay its not so good if you haven't got them already, however plain scissors also work abet not quite the desired effect.

Might even be cheaper else where.

Not if you buy them from the Early Learning Centre, you may find! Plus you can get several different patterns. Hopeless for material but find for card / paper.

Edited after I read the other posts. That IS cheap for proper pinking shears. Early Learning Centre do these for £5, interchangeable blades with different patterns. They used to do a set of three different kinds of scissors, sorry I'm not putting it very well, but it meant you could make pointy edges, johnny could make wavy edges, and lucy could make curved edges. I think that was better than having one set of handles and several different blades!

    I understood it ;D

Thanks SavvySue, I'm there now and trying to avoid buying some ;) and buying whatever my great neice doesn't need. ;)

I love that shop though. Great service (I'm hoping to stay on topic btw) but it's definitely bookmarked for next Christmas.

    Thanks again.

P.S. I said the scissors were dear before I clicked on shrek's link. Doh! But the real deal one's do cost a fortune if my seamstress friend's to be believed. Bit like hairdresser's scissors ;)

Hard a word with misses she told me that you can indeed get scissors with inter changandle parts with kids paterns etc. If that's the case it's also good fun for the kids to help out and have some fun at the same time :)

I buy lots of next christmas's things in the sale. Christmas crackers are at least half price, and lots of pressies can be got at half the price too. Even if not to be used for Christmas, they come in for birthdays etc.
Christmas cards are next to nothing too. Can save lots of money! :)
Got 12 crackers from Asda for £1.08 last Saturday! and you save even more money if you don't send any cards ...
