Are accessories classed as part of the phone?
I bought an iphone 2 months ago and the headphones have broken already. I took it back to CPW yesterday for a replacement to be told accessories are not covered by the warranty and, in fact, the iphone headphones are crap!
I'm not sure this is right. Surely they should be covered.

Broken how? No visible damage? If they broke without any cause then they'll be covered as part of your standard consumer rights - you don't need to invoke your warranty
If you sat on them.. go buy some new ones - they're rubbish anyway. I don't get why people accept those substandard pieces of tosh in their ears.
Got me some Shure E110s headphones.. so much better quality than those bits of white plastic0 -
I haven't broken them; one ear works the other doesn't! I'll get some better ones but I still want them replacing on principal!Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.0

Have you tried any others ?
Is it the phones that have broken or the socket on the iPhone ?0 -
Definitely the phones, I've tried them on another phone and other phones work with my phone.Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.0

Call Apple, they'll send you new headphones for free. They also send a jiffy bag to return the broken headphones in.
The only thing they do also do is place a hold on a credit/debit card of £19 (it was last year when I worked there, may have gone up since) to cover the cost of the headphones should you not return the broken ones.0
