Tocco Lite on Orange

Just trying to order a Tocco Lite PAYG phone on the Orange web site. the phone is advertised as £69 + £10 top up.

So I select the phone and you are then requested to choose a plan.

Once a plan is selected, a £10 top up is added to your basket.

But when you then click on Checkout, the phone has suddenly gone up to £79, making the total bill including the £10 top up £89.

I want to do this via the website as Quidco are offering £12 cashback.

I have tried talking to the Orange sales team and the Orange customer services team, but they can't help with the website.

They will sell me the phone fro £79, but I then lose the £12 Quidco cashback.

Any idea's how I can get this sorted?

Is there anyway you can remove the extra £10 top up at the checkout screen?

    Doesn't seem to be.

When I spoke to the sales team they tried to tell me the extra £10 was the top up but this is listed separately to the phone.

I have just tried the LG Cookie on the Orange website and that works OK

Orange appear to have fixed the site.

    So just ordered:

    Tocco Lite PAYG: £69.00
    Racoon PAYG: £10.00
    Total: £79.00

    QuidCo Cashback: £12.00

    Nice little Christmas present :-)

Just about all Orange phones are locked to Orange, so you'd have to either pay Orange to unlock it (20 quid, I think) or get it unlocked locally.

The price difference maybe Orange clearing their stock, it's a old phone.

I bought this phone on the Orange network and with the Racoon tariff.

However my plan is that once I have used up my initial £10 top-up, I am going to switch back to by old Orange sim card that is on a better rate.

I am presuming that this won't be an issue as it is still Orange?
  • Have you registered the Orange sim as you can get the £10 transferred to your current sim usually.

My current PAYG sim isn't a normal top-up PAYG.

I just pay a bill by direct debit at the end of the month.

If I could transfer the £10 top-up to this account it would be handy because at the moment I am going to have to use the new number I get with the phone until the credit is exhausted.

That should be fine, any Orange sim should work in any Orange phone.

If it's an old sim (something like the old OVP tariff) you might have problems getting some data services to work. I used to work on the tech helpline and some of the older sims just wouldn't update to the newer services. Orange aren't replacing the sims as they want rid of the old tariffs off the system.
