Hi..ok bill doesnt say dh is out but will deff check..the meter just says the usual lights, cooker, etc..

They are both i suppose where a storage heater could go but the 2 hall ones are in quite odd places the first one i posted kind of on the bend as you go up the stairs..pics added from a wider view of the others just for opinions! first pic is the hall to the second floor, other one is the lounge quite high up off floor?I wouldnt put them there thats for sure..and again am i being daft in aksing who would install them when there are loads of radiators?
    Thanks

Given that you say its a new house, and assuming your central heating was put in when the house was built, there is no way these would have been put there just in case someone wanted to put in a storage heater at a later date.

Do your neighbours have them too? If so, have you tried asking if they know what they do?
For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.

keith969 thats exactly what i said to dh! we have 8 radiators and have had one removed so there were 9!..we really dont need any additional heating lol!..the one in the lounge i have always thought would be for a fire which we would like but due to our corner sofa wont happen till we get a diferent one.
    Thanks

OP, what is behind that one on the landing (the other side of the wall)? Looks like a WC or bathroom-is there a rad or electric towel rail maybe?
Is there only 1 meter, or one meter with two readouts (one E7, one normal)?
Your bill will clearly indicate what tariff you are on, and if there are two sets of meter readings (one off peak, one on peak), then this will show that you are on an E7 tariff.
Can you confirm that your radiators are part of a gas central heating system-nothing electric?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Hi behind that socket is a cupboard which is just storage, there is a light in there but the switch (similar to one im querying but lights up when on) is on a different wall completely for that. Behind that wall is the downstairs loo where there is a radiator (no towel rail) but again wouldnt be linked to that as other side of house!)

The central heating system is gas, a glow worm boiler with thermostat opposite that first pic then a box in the kitchen to decide on times and temp etc.

Our bill says nothing at all as to what we are on..we just pay by DD is all i know! i can find out though later.
    Thanks

I thought it might be the isolator for an electric shower possibly.
Does your bill give 2 sets of meter readings or one?

It seems we are just going round in circles when the OP could easily check their meter to see if they have one or two readings, which would rule in or out a storage heater circuit.

How long does it take to look at a meter?;)

Would it have 2 screens then is that what your saying? if so no it has one..well ive only ever given one reading anyway..i have had a toddler here this morning a poorly kitten to sort out and a fridge being delivered and having to sort that out..it isn't that close to hand so it takes a while!
