He said prices wouldn't fall in 2008...
That is completely untrue.
I said no such thing, and challenge you to link to any post of mine, here or on HPC, where I did.
In fact, my house price predictions have consistently been more pessimistic than the reality has subsequently shown.
Which should worry you greatly, if you want lower prices.;)“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

So you thought prices would fall in 2007/2008?0 -
Presumably you'll have been one of the people saying (at peak) that house prices wouldn't fall. If so, do you admit you were wrong too as we've still seen substantial falls since peak.
Actually at peak, I expected falls, both in prices and interest rates. But thats why I got a tracker, which has paid off well and more than compensated for the falls. Particularly as prices in my area are now higher than at any time except 2 months in 2007.
In 2008, I expected bigger falls for 08/09 than occurred.
And yes, you did see substantial falls from peak. But the recovery has been much faster and further than you could have imagined. Whereas I noted on numerous occasions that the crash was being time compressed, and the recovery would be too.I'll make a prediction, YOY house prices will be lower in January 2011 than they are now. Feel free to remind me how right I am in 12 months time.
Anything is possible, no matter how unlikely......;)“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

so you expected falls after the peak. Wow, you're a genius. No wonder you have made millions from property!0 -

See, you're frothing again. I didn't even have an opinion, just pointing out some facts related to the OP, IE anyone with basic literacy skills would realise that what was being said was indeed very likely and was hardly an outlandish statement.
Thanks for proving my point so perfectly.
Just once, ONCE, it would be nice if you people engaged your brain before rolling your face across the keyboard in another attempt at a reply. I too find it rather alarming that a certain group of people on here invariably resort to abuse when they lose the argument. Hopefully with the moderators' help we can snuff this disturbing trend out.
A socky that exists only to report bullish posters to abuse.
Nice.
The ultimate resort of those proved decisively wrong by reality.;)“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

is it because you're not brave enough to report them using your user id?
