if anyone knows a terminal and knows what OS it has I would be happy to change to a different one.

Apple use a modified iPod Touch in their stores. There is plenty of info out there about its operating system, iPhone OS.

If you were to ask HSBC what OS they use in their cash machines, I doubt they would tell you.

It's a modified version of Win 2K. The one at Westminster Tube the other week crashed and was stuck on the Win 2K boot screen.
  • the ones we use at our work use a modified os based on symbian apparently.

I think this is the right router. According to this pdf, it runs a modified Linux firmware. I know the DG834GT also runs a Linux based firmware so it's probably a good bet that most of them do.

    Hi,

I'm doing an assignment and need to know software for items and I can't find/understand what the OS of a card terminal is(the ones in shops that everyone uses when they buy an item) anyone know?

I believe the device supports linux http://wiki.openembedded.net/index.php/Main_Page or WinCE 6.0, but since they use linux in some of thei other products....

If you are very proficccent in programming it, you could probably use it for cloning cards and gathering pin nos.
