Help with my dogs breathing - it doesnt seem right!

My little dog, Max, over the past couple of days seems to be breathing differently.

I know it sounds strange but it sounds like he has got asthma?!!

I don't know if there is such a thing in dogs.

I initially thought he was wingeing at me ..............

The noise is like just before he is about to winge (but without the high pitch sound) - and it is with every breath he takes.

Any advice?

Thanks

    What breed is he?

And Geri made a good point, of course, clicked reply too quickly. Get him checked out as soon as you can.

You should get him checked out by the vet as soon as possible, I would have thought.

Sounds like an URT problem. The whining/snoring noise would make me worried it ws a laryngeal problem eg laryngeal paralysis. Could be something as simple as an URT infection or KC etc.
  • As a general rule, put yourself in your pet's position. If it was you with breathing problems, would you ring a doctor for an appointment in the morning or would you call an ambulance? The same theory works for diarrhoea, limping etc - what would you do if it was you? Most vets would class difficulty breathing as an emergency, worth a phonecall at least

I agree with other replys - call the vet!

Just in case you don't have a regular vet you could try these:

Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree! :D
