I wonder if Dad is really living in the overspill property with one child or whether they're all somehow managing to cram into the 6 bed mansion and sublet the overspill to someone else. It'd be a nice little earner."I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. I can feel myself gettin' awful mad. I'm out of patience, children. I'm coming to find you now." - Harry Powell, Night of the Hunter, 1955.0

The truth is, you should never be better off on benefits than if you work.
Therefore, the govt should find the smallest and cheapest pribvately owned home, and make sure no one on benefits has anything bigger or more expensive.
Also, and I am deadly serious here: can't we move all these scroungers out of London. Why should take up some of the worlds most expensive real estate. they should be farmed out somewhere cheaper.0 -

Yes, couldn't help wondering if that was going on too.
I'm sure we have all heard at first hand of cases of council tenants illegally subletting their housing paid for by the taxpayer to private renters.0 -

I agree. Even with you.0 -
Sorry, I'm a 'leftie', but I think this case stinks.
Now that's funny:rotfl::rotfl: You're as Thatcherite as they come. You give the poor a kick at every oppotunity on this board, you're totally out for yourself AND you support Grammar schools. Nobody who is a true leftie could ever support Grammar schools.A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step

Can we keep personal attacks out of this. We're attacking this scrounging Somali family, not fellow forum members."I can hear you whisperin', children, so I know you're down there. This really is a disgusting and incompetent waste of tax payers money
If i remember rightly the last person who housed a family in a house like this actually got sacked from the council they worked at.
One of my Trainees comes from a massive family, mum, dad and 11 kids, the council has only given them a 3 storey 5 bedroom house, i think they should ask for the east wing in buck palace0 -
