Solid Oak Worktop

Andy, I have a butlers sink with wooden drainers either side and I have used the danish oil on them which I didn't find as good as junkers oil. I only use the junkers every six month where as I found using the danish I was doing them every couple of months.
You will need to sand lightly in between each application with a fine wire wool but it's well worth it.
Good Luck0 -
I am going to do mine in junckers oil, just need to find somewhere local that sells it. But interesting reading about the brackets to allow for movement.0

I've just bought some off ebay from brooklyntradingltd, that's the ebay I.D. It is 14.99 plus free p+p delivered by courier for a 2.5ltr tin.
The last tin I bought from my kitchen fitter for the same size was £25, so this seems like a good deal.0 -
The black marks that appear on an oak worktop are normally due to steel getting in contact and causing a reaction.
Be careful not to leave any wet cans etc on the worktop.0 -
Managed to find some for same price but went and collected as needed to get some coats on. 3 on the underside so far, will probably be more critical on the tops with the sanding in between coats.
Been watching this video and he reckons about 10 coats.
