Possible B.A. Strike

My husband has had a serious operation and,as part of his recovery, in the summer we booked flights to Barbados leaving on Jan 2nd 2010. Now of course there is a strike ballot due to be revealed on Dec 14th.
We are insured and just wonder what will happen if the strike goes ahead. Is it just for Christmas or will our date be included? Presumably, our holiday would not go ahead as it will be too late to find alternative flights in mid December?
Will our insurance cover the cost of the hotel we have booked in Barbados as well as the flights?
Any advice or information welcomed!

No one knows what dates the strike will be on, if any.

You're flying from LGW so you'll be fine even if a strike were to go ahead.0
