Thanks for posting. I've merged your post with an earlier one about the cheap listing day. :)

  • I'd really like to know what people think about cheap listing days.

Do you think that your items go for less as there are loads more people than normal listing stuff, and therefore more competition (and more choice for buyers)? I've wondered about this before and keep putting off using the cheap listing days for that reason.

I haven't sold much yet as I'm still relatively new, but would appreciate what the more experienced e-bayers have found.

Whats ebay like at the moment with the World Cup? Is it worth listing items if ebay is quiet because of the world cup?

I have never found a dip in my sales unless the day ISN'T a Thursday, then a 10 day listing ends on a Sunday & I get a lot more bids then.

I've sold a few things successfully since it started, BUT I would definitely advise caution if anyone's thinking of listing 10 day auctions on the cheap listing day. A 10-day auction starting on the 15th will finish on the 25th, when the World Cup game at 16:00 is Group B winners (possibly England) vs Group A runners-up. If England are group winners and win their match on the 25th, the evening match (20:00 KO) will determine their next opponents, so most fans would watch that one too.
Might be safer to stick to 7 day listings tomorrow!
