I saw the same log recipe using instant coffee to soak the gingernuts with on "How 2" when I was a child - you used a little bit to flavour the cream too. That could be something you have around the house. Thanks, I'm not much of a coffee drinker but I'm sure I have a jar of instant coffee at the back of the cupboard. The biccies are disappearing fast though!Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!

I ate them all up before they could be used in anything!
I sat at the laptop reading your terrific ideas and looking up recipes, nibbling all the while! They were lovely though!
