I started a job 6wks ago and stopped claiming severe disablement allowance incapacity benefit i have stuck it out for 6wks but i am finding that because of my illness i can,t do the job. When i started work i recieved a letter saying that if i fell sick before 12/12/09 i can reclaim incapacity benefit and if i am working at the time my employer should not pay ssp and they should give me a form ssp1 then it goes on about all other dates etc. The thing i need to know is it straight foward to get back onto incapacity benefit are is there forms to fill in medicals etc. I am going to have to look for a more suitable job.
Thanks
Thanks

This happened to my son, you need to get a medical certificate and phone the jobcentre to reclaim incapacity benefit.0

To make a new rapid reclaim for either IB or SDA you need to call JCP on 0800 055 6688. You will sent a claim form and will need a new sick note.0

You will be classed as a Welfare to Work beneficiary and will return to the benefit at the same rate of benefit as before. I would assume that you will have to undergo a medical at some point.0

I made a claim for Incapacity benefit under the Rapid Reclaim scheme last week but they have still not sent me the forms. So I called 08000 556688 again and they say they will be sending me the forms now.
mercedes125...
I think you will have to send in sick notes if your doctor gives you a date for returning to work. If the sick note is for an indefinite period I think you would not have to sumbit regular sick notes.
Have you thought of claiming JobSeekers Allowance (JSA) instead?0 -
I have rang that number today and they are sending out the relavant forms that i have to fill in, im going to see the docter this week as they have told me that i need to send a sick note with it. I will just have to tell the docter that i started the job and because of my illness i can not do it im sure he will understand as i am still having to go to the hospital etc. At least i tried i was so fed up of just being at home all day long.0

You will now be making a new claim to IB or SDA and will have to continue sending in sick notes to be paid until the PCA medical test is applied to you.0

I recieved a form about a month ago asking me what other benefits i was recieving and wrote on this it said review, so do you think that it is being reviewed now.

Its an obsolete benefit and you will soon be transfered to ESA, if it was a review you would already have the ESA50 form.
No matter what the sickness benefit you hand in sick lines till they say otherwise or you lose the benefit.0
