Samsung contact list display

Just bought father in law Samsung M150 for xmas. Setting it up for him I was trying to get it to show a picture of the caller when it rings. To do this the phone numbers have to be copied from the SIM to the phone. No problem so far...

But this gives the problem that the contact list now has two entries for each contact (one sim and one phone). The only way I can see to not show the SIM entries is to actually delete them which is not desirable if it can be avoided.

Is there a way on this phone (his old Samsung is also similiar so it may be Samsungs in general) to display JUST the numbers form the phone or just the numbers from the SIM. (You can on my old brick nokia!!!)

Thanks

You could try to rename the Sim contacts to something like "Name (Sim)".

The other approach and more practical would be to backup your sim contacts to your pc and delete them - then you only have one copy on the phone. If the phone copy is ever wiped you can get them back from pc.

    Hello
The option your looking for is called "memory in use" it's within the contact management settings. You can set it to phone, sim or both (where it shows double entries).

    Hi Mike
Yes i've just checked out the user manual, you're correct it doesn't have this option so Oneaday's option is best. Ironicaly it's one of the reason i ditched samsungs, some had the option others didn't, that and they're dreadfull custom dictionary that only allowed you to add 10 new words!!!
