Phones 4 U advice please

I took out a contract phone yesterday at Phones 4 U, I told them that there was one O2 number that would be the main no called. They told me for £30 I would be able to get 600min unlimited text and a family bolt giving me unlimited calls to four other o2 phones.
They didnt have the phone I wanted in stock but phoned around and found one at a nearby store. They were then very keen to get credit check done and once I had passed said they would get the phone within 40 mins. I told them I would call back later to which the Manager said that they would 'hang on to my driving licence as a deposit'.
Once I returned to store I was told the contract was for £25 and I would have to phone o2 direct to get the £5 family bolt on added once phone was connected. When I tried to do this I was told by o2 it is not £5 but £7.50, how do I stand? I feel I have been mis-sold this contract by being given the wrong information! any advice please - thanks in advance

i would have been concerned by the 'hang on to my driving licence as a deposit' bit.
sounds a bit ropey to me.The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits0 -
Yes, it did make me feel a bit untrusted I must admit, but was in a rush and it was only afterwards when I had time to think that I started to wonder if it was common practice!0

i don't expect there is much you can do other than try to speak to the store manager about it. Maybe see if they have POS up advertising the bolt-on at the price you were quoted. The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits0

If you have O2's 600 minute, 500 text and unlimited bolt-on tariff, which, for 24 months is £30 then you can select the bolt-on as "Unlimited O2 to O2 calls - Make as many calls as you like to other O2 mobiles" or "Unlimited texts - Text anytime to any network". The Family bolt-on can be taken in addition to your normal bolt-on for an additional £7.50 - the other callers must be on O2 as well.
I would return to the store and ask to speak to the manager and clearly explain the situation (you're more likely to get a helpful response if you can avoid being too emotive.) Have an idea what you want as the resolution before you go in and make that absolutely clear. If the manager fails to help you'll be faced with moving matters up to head office.0 -
Good News - just returned to store and the assistant explained the situation to o2 and they have switched the unlimited text to unlimited o2 which means I wont have to purchase a bolt on. I lose the free text messages but dont text much anyway - result! Many thanks for you help and suggestions0
