Also, if I were you, I would just bite the bullet and ring the Inland Revenue if you're concerned about finding money you owe them. I attended a self employed workshop and the lady there said to contact them if money difficulties arose, they can't help you if you don't inform them of your circumstances!
Thanks, I will ask him to sit down tonight to go through for a cheaper car insurances.
I'm gonna have to call inland Revenue as well. They sent paper in the post today about my previous claim that I have to discuss with them.Jessiepig wrote:No someone cannot insure a car unless they are the regustered owner. If you borrow a friends car you can drive it under your driving of other cars(which is third party only) or be added as a named drivers.
I have worked in car insurance for over 10 years!
All I know is that the other guy owned the car and my husband took out the insurance in his name. The payment was taken d/d from their Joint business account. When we phoned up to cancell the insurance we were told there was a 250 pound payment outstanding that had not been paid. Perhaps it bounced when they closed the joint account. however we got stuck with the bill. They were kind enough to let us do 5 monthly payment since we didn't have the money to pay it all at once.0 -
Thats very cheap for buildings and contents. How much are you covered for on each.
It should be the rebuilding cost of your home and the contents should be the full amount it would cost to replace everything in you home.
Most homes have at least £15,000 (it add up)£2 saver club, over £200 now:

Have you tried visiting the Citizens Advice Bureau about this? When I was in debt I couldnt make ends meet so I went to the CAB and asked them for a form for an administration order (or I think you can phone the credit companies and ask for one). It's just a form where you write all your incomings and outgoings on it. Then the figure left over is what they consider to be your disposable income. So that is what they agree as a monthly figure to pay off the debt. They also freeze the interest for 6 months.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

Hi GP
Contact tax credits straight away !! - you're struggling and they should be paying you more now you're incomings are less. You may even find they pay a lump sum owed to you and increase your monthly amount - they deal with this kind of thing all the time no need to be worried.0 -

I might have missunderstood you, but I dont see how this could benefit me. I dont have any creditcards. I got two loans and a large overdraft. Does it work for that as well?0 -
I do have a question about my debt I have not seen anyone mention.
Regarding my two loans and overdraft limit. Would it be worth trying to take out another loan to pay off the other 3 or is this a big no no?0 -
its a big no no Im afraid.
It wont get you out of debt any faster.
Do you have any PPI on your loans? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
No it would not be worth it plus you would never get a loan anyway, your best bet is DMP speak to payplan or the cccs both of whom can help you0

I suspect that the reason why this insurance is SO high is cos of it being a passenger transport vehicle. is that righT?
iF YOU DONT OWN THE CAR and were scammed, contact the police & get a crime reference number. they should be able to find him as he will be driving round. Additionally, pull that insurance any which way you can. YOu should not be paying for a vehicles insurance that you have no connection with.
I say write to the insurer stating the crime reference no and that you are unwilling adn unable to pay for it, and you are the victim of a crime. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Do your parents have broadband? If they do, you could try Skype http://www.skype.com or a similar internet phone service - it's free to download and free to call through your computer ( you can call via your normal phone using a cheap package from Skype too). I signed up when my sister moved to France and we talk for hours and pay nothing ( apart from the usual broadband connection which you would have for using the internet anyway)0
