Data Protection Breach

Hello All

Need some help regarding breach of Data Protection Act.

I worked for Conduit`s call centre last year for two months left the job. Applied again this year but wasnt successfull due to an unspent conviction.

However one of their employes in recruitment has been telling my friends about my conviction.

I dont personally know this person in recruitment but find it embarassing as my details are being disclosed without my consent.

I am sure this is a breach of human rights as well.

What should I do to prevent this from damaging me any further.

What are my rights.

Please help.

There isn't a template for this kind of thing as it's relatively uncommon and depends on the particular circumstances. You should just write what you feel.

However, think carefully ... what do you want to get out of this? If the person is gossiping in a personal capacity, the company might not be able to do much - or might not be willing to intervene.

Could you just "move on" and let it wash over you?
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)

I would have thought some sort of disiplinary on that person and maybe a dismissal as this is completly unacceptable and must be taken seriously to prevent this from happening any further.

I have been following this forum for a while and it amazes me that anyone would listen to Anihilator for any advice. Just find posts by Anihilator and you will always find similar posts. Sticks his nose in issues he has no clue about, posts either stupid troll comments or pretends he knows anything about employment law. It amazes me no one picks up on this.
