Three PAYG itemised Bill
I just signed up with three for a PAYG phone. My first block of credit dissappeared very quickly and I couldn't see calls made on my phone. I got in touch with three by email as I couldnt find details of calls made on their website.
They have responded (after a month) with generalised details of calls made eg x text y mobile calls made but have told me that I can only get details on the calls made with a request to the data protection office costing £10 each time and taking 40 days to process.
Surely any company billing me has a responsibility telling me what they have charged me so that i can confirm the details or maybe I'm wrong?
I am loathe to use the phone again without knowing that I can check the charges made -
Any advice, is this the only way I can get detailed billing? Is there somewhere I can lodge a complaint

They should be able to discuss the details of charges over the phone, but they are correct about sending out the details they hold on you, including statements and charges. it is called a SAR (Subject Access Request) and costs £10.
When you say you couldn't see calls made on your phone, do you mean your phone has no log, or you cant see calls on your 3 account? I might be mistaken but do you not have to pay for itemised billing?Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
Thanks for replying -I don't actually want a paper bill sent to me-I'd just like to confirm the charges by viewing a log -There is no way to see what calls have been made through the 3 account or what you have been charged, The website only displays what credit you have left.
The only way to check charges is to check balance after every call /text
I have no way of querying the call costs as I can't get details on them without paying £10 and waiting 40 days which is fine because phone companies never make mistakes
The phone log doesn't show duration of call for any numbers and didn't show calls around the time the credit went.0 -
pay n go - you do not get itemised billing or any sort of billing (standard as far as I can remember) - its upto you as a user to track your usage. If you want call information from them, you can pay them the tenner and get that information.0
