    6 years is the limit,

Did 3 cancel the contract and confirm that ?
  • Firstly, try not to write in capitals, people will see it and not bother to read it.

6 Years is the limit for statute barre,d and even then it is not wiped off, just not enforceable via a court.

For access to the records, you need to do a Subject Access Request (SAR) cost is £10.

If you cancelled mid contract they might be chasing you for the remainder of the contract as you can't cancel mid contract. My best advice would be to write to 3 directly, inform them of the reasons for cancelling due to them been unable to operate your account and put the debt in dispute. If they admit it is there fault ask to them to wipe the debt off as you cant be held liable for their actions.

Debts 'written off' are something that has no relevance to the debtor. These debts are assigned (or sold on) to a third party company and the debt ALWAYS remains owed - it NEVER vanishes. After 6 years it enters a state called 'statute barred' but nevertheless, the debt still remains in the name of the debtor, until paid.
