Multiple Savings accounts.

Options
Hi there,

I have an IF (if.com) account which I believe are part of the Halifax.

I have various savings 'JARS' (Accounts) with them, each have their own name, i.e. Christmas, Birthdays etc. So it's convenient to put money into each jar and I know instantly what the money's for.

I was wondering, do the Halifax also do this with it's online savings accounts too? Whereby you can have multiple accounts and also name them.

It's just Halifax is more convenient as I could pop into a brand and use their cash machines to put money in. (I also have a current account to)

Thanks
If I've help in anyway, please remember to thank me :-)

Yes. Their Web Saver's work brilliantly. The only problem is that the rates have died a death.

Pay in to your Halifax current account and then send the money to IF via Faster Payments or BACS online?

    Hi opinions4u.

    Thanks for the reply.

So you can have multiple Web Savers with Halifiax and name them? I have one at the moment with a halifax current account for the life of me I can't see where I change the name of the web saver account?

Faster Payments, I'm not sure if IF supports that. But good idea!!

    Thanks.

You can have a mix of 5 variable rate Web Savers (e.g. with card, without card) including 1 Web Saver Extra (one penalty free withdrawal a year).

You can have unlimited Fixed Rate Web Savers.

Tax info, changes, interest and closure from the drop down menu next to the account roll number. Takes seconds!

I don't think they support it for payments leaving IF.

Use the checker to see if your accounts there can receive the payments though.

You might also be interested in Saffron's Goal Saver account at 2.85% with a guarantee to be 2.35% above the BoE base rate until 31 August 2010.

Each 'goal' has a Goal Saver account to go with it. You can make payments in by direct debit.
