Has anyone seen this - Amazing! It is rather long but really tells an emotional story. In fact I think I have seen an advert recently that obviously uses this lady

Lou, wasn't there a top of the pops gladioli incident as well?

Beanie, I got a really nice pendant for £3 inc delivery, it was on the discount board here, I'll try and find it for you.

Yep, Morrissey was poking fun at TOTP for their practice of artists miming so he made it obvious by singing into a bunch of flowers instead of a mic:rotfl:

    Sorry buffy

I think if you want to start Buffy there are plenty of people here who can give you their own personal experience and advice. I will happily help you in anyway I can - Im no expert and still plod along but don't forget you can achieve it if you are totally committed. I couldn't even run to the end of the road when I started and a year later I ran the marathon. That is an extreme but if you want to run 5 miles or 1 you can :)

FWIW I agree with sallyx.......just pop on your trainers and see how you go. Only run as fast as you can, then walk the rest of the way round the block. Then a couple of days later, do it again, but see if you can get to the next corner/lamp-post/roundabout before you have to stop and walk.....

Bit by bit you will be going further and further, and before you know it you will be running/jogging/plodding 2-3 miles with ease!

It's not a race between you and someone else - and one person's training plan is not necessarily right for another, so books and magazines are difficult to judge.

But I'm like sallyx, went from nothing to the London marathon in just a few months - and on the day we were just a minute or so apart after 26 miles......amazing really and just shows that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.

    Good luck xx

  • thanks Bagpuss is it worth buying do you think?

Yes I think it is worth buying. It is easy to read and is in plain english and the plans look easy enough to follow

It must have taken her hours to learn to do that so accurately
    Nevertheless she persisted.

I don't personally think you need to buy it. Yes it could give you a bit of motivation but there are running blogs (plodding hippo) that you can read for free. If you want a plan there are plenty of people that can do you one if you give us days you want to run, how far you think or time you can run now.
Its being motivated and committed though that is the battle (I battle with it week in week out!) if you want to improve!
