    I felt like you.
First ever general I was sure I wouldn't wake up.

Anyway two later, I'm still here.
You're in far more danger crossing the road.

After you've come round you will realise what an irrational fear it was, I did.

I have had quite few GA, and I'm still here to tell the tale (and I have to have another soon.)

You are the best monitored you will ever be in your life, the needle can't be avoided. Aneathetists are almost always really kind people: and know that a lot of people are scared, and so are the porters and nurses who'll be with you when you ''go to sleep''.

In almost all occasions, I have woken up feeling better than I expect to. Its not as bad for me, as say, a bad hangover (not that I have many of those). Sometimes I even feel like eating that evening. Sometimes I'm a little sick, but its all ok, nothing frightful. You get a really, really good sleep and whent he operation is over all the worry about it is gone.

People tell such horrid tales, that I'm always really keen to balance that with my experiences....it not what I'd choose to do, but its ok.

Good luck, I hope your recovery is good! Take magazines for after wards, as you might feel a bit bored, but not energetic enough for a whole book. :)

It feels like a regular injection, but you fall asleep from it so quickly you won't have time to worry (seconds).

If its an emergency you go straight in, I think if its planned you get a pre-med to relax & dope you up (in a nice way).

Honest to God, I know what you mean.
I was always scared that if I ever had to have one, I would not wake up.
You know what, I'm not that scared anymore, because I know it "ok":D

Like waking up when you haven't had much sleep or you've had too much.
    A bit groggy.

But don't worry about that, if you're anything like me you will be delighted to wake up:D

I tend to wake up, get told briefly everything was alright, then go back to sleep :)

    Its a great, deep sleep.
