HI Guys
I have had a virgin media hd box installed and noticed a usb slot on it. What is it for? also does anyone know if it is possible to transfer recorded programs or films onto an external hard disk plugged into the usb port?
Cheers
John

The USB port on the V+ is not enabled for anything (other than maybe charging your mobile/ipod etc).
It's there because the V+ is a slightly customised box made by a third party who offer USB as an option to cable companies (along with other things), however Virgin have never enabled it.0 -
Some VM franchises (Bromley platform) use the STB instead of a SACM for broadband internet.however the USB is for Diagnostic/screen & clean use at present.0
