OK, while wageslave has been berating I've been doing stuff...;)
My fear, which I've been raising off open forum, is that if we don't get the money quick the suitable accomodation will be booked and unavailable, Sue tells me it goes quite quickly.
As such, while I am in favour of the selling/favours approach I don't think time is on our side. As such I would propose backing Lilac Pixie's suggestion of cash pledge.
I nominate Wagelsave or sj for adding up.
sue must set up a paypal acct to make this work IMO and we should chuck the money in, by the end of the week so the thing can be booked?
I'm in.
edit: sue doesn't really want cash, but the thing is time is an issue here, and I don't really see any viable alternative ATM, and I think wageslave is corect that this is something we can all do, not moan about.0 -

I am on your side
Actually I am on any side that gets something done.
I have never come across so many people long on talk, short on action
Is it an English thing?
Dunno I'm Scottish. :rotfl:
I am just perpetually lazy and would rather pay someone to do something than actually have to put in the effort and do it myself.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -

Sorry yes I am here, youngest got up and I had to sort him out.
I do already have a paypal account, not sure how we would go about letting people know the details. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
I've spent the last 20 mins catching up. adding up all the ebay suitable stuff around here, making a virtual visit up the road to michaels' pad (congratulations on exchanging BTW, any of the houses you posted about?), going via carolt's place if she has anything. Now the virtual van is off to SingleSue's and I don't have a clue what part of the country she is in and you've all now abandonded ebay.
As far as paypal is concerned, you can pay into someone's paypal account with just their email address, that can be PM'd to people. As long as your password is reasonably difficult and probably should be changed regularly, there is no danger.
Question folks: what's the minimum value of stuff for ebaying. I know theoretically its 99p, but what makes the effort worthwhile? I tend to think if its not going to net £20 then its not worth the hassle.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. It might make sense to raise what ever donation we make via the ebay sort out....but perhaps to reimburse ourselves. I just think with spring a lot of people will be thinking about holidays, and we need to act PDQ0 -

QUOTE]
Might it even be possible for Sue to set up a new hotmail/googlemail/your other choice of email address, link that to the paypal account for the purposes of this? Just in case Sue wants to keep her email address private?
Not sure whether you can change you email address on paypal/ whether it would be a pain to get validated etc etc.
Agree with lir (and wageslave) about the likely need to get a wriggle on...
