  • Oh yeah...see...my memory sucks.

PN, if you get a house with a pool we'll descend upon you and chucky will cause a fight as he'll be worried we all want him and I'll keep stripping and causing embarrassment and davesnave and really will eat all your fish.

    Loving this.

Was it the maggie fly? :D
No, it was a huge worm from my compost heap, or probably several!

The standard bait there, unless you wanted to prolong the visit by using fly, was fish pellet, but only the one-to-two pounders would fall for that. There are always a few bright ones who escape several times after being hooked, which then skulk and grow large in the most inaccessible place.

We saw this fish was there, so it was just a case of reaching it with something novel. :)

Just discovered the thread has turned to 'wild' swimming'. My uncle has a wild (?) pool in his garden - massive. My main memory of swimming in it was of being terrified of standing on a newt. He claimed the newts were more terrified of being stood on by me and would get out my way quick. :D

    Don't think I squished any newts. :)

But found it a bit scary. I think I prefer chlorine, and no weed in your hair.

The wee'd in your hair is part of what I dislike about pools. The chlorine being one of the other things.

Nothing like relaxing naked in a sauna, drinking beer, followed by a running jump into a lake.

Sounds great but to run from the local jjb gym to the reservoir 1 mile up the road naked would take more balls than i currently have.

I think they can do something about that with a silicone implant.

If I were going down the silicone enhancement route my balls would have to wait.

I do too......any chance of starting a dedicated thread to your small holding and what you are going to do?....thinking something along the lines of (and on topic to MSE ethos) ''I am going to plant a wood so I can save on fuel cost' or ''self sufficient from 5 acres''.....''prepping for Aramaggeon......on 5 acres''
Don't know where you could post it...here maybe if you change your user name to Asheron?

I'm a bit shy about posting a blog, mainly because those I read are so good, I'd never have time to do anything if I tried to match them. Also, I don't want to be driven by the feeling that others are watching me; that's too much like work!

On the other hand, I am thinking of putting some photos together for the guys over on The Daydream Fund Challenge thread in Greenfingered. That's where a group of us post about what we're doing on our bits of land, large and small.

I agree it's fun to hear what others are up to, or even just to smirk in a self-satisfied way when they re having cold, driving rain and you're in shirtsleeves.:o
