You don't see many people clutching a packet of fags while running though so that idea may be a nonstarter.& i always wore full make-up & my huge hoop earrings :rotfl:chav fitness ltd

I can't jog.I used to run, although I hated it when I started it I loved it for the next 20 hours. After that felt too close to going again, so started hating it again till back from next run.
I sort of want to join a gym, but I really want to do an aquasize class, but I'm too embarrassed. (from the woman whose been seen nekkid or nearly so by almost every neighbour she has...I don't think I could stand it in a swimsuit, purposely, not nowadays. )0 -
That's an interesting point. Does anyone sometimes experience thinking about how a word is spelt.... and the more you think about it, the more it seems wrong!
I love words and language... I sometimes have a word of the moment that I like to turn around in my mind and experiment with its use.
Some words and phrases are really evocative. You don't even have to completely understand the meaning to get the meaning. That sounds very Irish, even to me:o
I remember reading Georgette Heyer at about aged 13 and she talked about reticules and high perch phaetons and riding "ventre a terre". I hadn't a clue what the strict meanings of the words were and yet I could still picture it all.Retail is the only therapy that works0 -

That brings back memories. I read Georgette Heyer at about that age too and loved the language for just the reasons you describe.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

phaetons.
That's one of my favourite words. OK, that might sound pathetic, does anyone else have favourite words? If I get a vehicle I want something like a Doctor's buggy. Apart from the word. Wen you compare what ''phaeton'' makes you think and feel about a horse and vehicle, compared to what ''buggy'' does it kills the mood a little.0
