I just started to have a play around with gmail and downloaded messages from another gmail account to start with (POP3). All messages seem to go in the same inbox and the label I associated remains empty.
I take it I've done something wrong? Loads of messages from different accounts in one inbox wasn't what I wanted.
I was wanting separate folders.

Select an email then choose 'More Actions', 'Filter messages like these'

on the [Next Step] apply the filter to a label, you should be able to group the mails from your various mail accounts.

Also various reading through the gmail help, very good source of what gmail can do and also has some walkthrough videos on some sections

A fundamental philosophy of gmail is "search don't sort". Once you have filters and applying labels sorted out correctly you can use the labels to view just the emails from a certain account.

One of my labels is called M-S-E, it filters all my MSE forum replies out so I can go through and reply to them seperatley from looking at other emails. I do the same for another forum I use a lot plus I filter email from one other email address I pull in this way too - which is what you want to do.:cool:
