Porting my number to Orange from O2

Hi
Is anyone else experiencing problems porting their number to Orange at the moment?
I called last Thursday (19th), gave my PAC number and was told it would happen on Monday 23rd between 9am - 1pm.
By 3pm on the Monday it hadn't happened so I called and was told it happens at some point before midnight, but I was showing on the system as in the queue for that day.
On Wednesday I called up and was told they'd had problems with the system but it would definitely be done that day.
Yesterday I called and spoke to someone more helpful who looked into the systems. Apparently I was showing on one screen but not the other, so he took my details again and manually imputted them. He told me my number would be posted that day. I received one text soon after on my old phone. I read it then switched both phones off and on.
I'm still not tranfered and am still running two mobiles. To make matters worse if I don't use my O2 PAC code by Wednesday I owe them another month's payment.
I'm going to call again today but have no doubt I'll be told it'll be done by the end of today, and then it'll roll into Monday. Is anyone having similar problems or can anyone offer any advice?

I ported from O2 Simplicity, and I can tell you that if a new billing month starts and then your number is ported over, you should get a proportional refund. I assume this will be the same for any O2 contract that is a 1 month rolling contract (which I assume yours has now become).
Not much advice there, but just telling you not to worry too much about the money.0 -
Can't offer much advice Berkshiregirl.
Maybe [if it comes to that], if you can show proof of the date you actually informed them of the PAC number (maybe give them a name & the date you spoke to them), they will refund any monies rolled over to the next month.
But thank you for alerting me to the problem, as i too will be porting from 02 to Orange shortly.
I was going to wait until practically the last minute to use my PAC. But now, i think i'll port my number a couple of weeks early - just to be on the safe side. :rolleyes:0 -
I'm on the phone to them at the moment and it seems they think it's been done, but when I call my old number my old phone rings. My temporary Orange number is now dead and deleted, meaning it's difficult to get through to them on the customer services number, and yet the transfer hasn't happened!0

Just to update again, I still can't use my new Orange phone yet. However I called O2 this morning and requested a new PAC code, which I've then given to Orange. Orange Technical Support promise my number will port on Wednesday.
Although I've heard that pretty much every day over the past two weeks, fingers crossed I should have sorted the problem now!0
