mine have just arrived, im very impressed, i have inspected every piece are there are slight imperfections on about 50% of what i bought mainly a speck of dust under the glaze, but im still happy at £1 a piece. Its not like we have loads of doulton lying around so i doubt anyone else will notice, im just being extremely critical. Dont let this put you off if your still thining of buying.

The design is fantastic, very simple but effective and could be used by both young and old alike.

If anything gets broken i'll be gutted.

I bought an 8 places and 2 platters, my nearest robert dyas is 190 miles away so im a bit gutted thati cantgetany of the extra's thatall you lovely people are getting. And No TJ hughes anywhere near either.

If anyone has any ''spare'' bits ;) .......

I agree that these will be the poshest plates i will ever eat off.
:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T

I agree the design is really nice and wont go out of fashion either. I didnt notice any imperfections on mine but there again i didnt look closely was trying to put it all away quickly before my 18 month old got her grubby hands on it  but one of the meat platters / plates does have a mark lright across it like a crack but deep down if that makes sense! so i am hoping i can exchange at the store!

Received mine! It looks fab. Thanks again OP. I am still tracking down other pieces to go with it now. I am off to Robert Dyas tonight so fingers crossed!

Silly question but the cups and saucers are they for tea or coffee or does it not matter?

I'm not a coffee drinker 3CP (I like a cup of lovely cup of tea) but I would use these for either. However, I can't resist adding to this bargain and have just ordered 5 of the 2 demi cup coffee sets which are a real bargain at £1.95. For some reason the order wouldn't go through for my address this time so I called the order line and placed my order over the phone.

Here are the little coffee cups.......... so cute and a great bargain.

These would be wonderful for making little chocolate mousses now that we all have our lovely posh china.
  • I have phoned my local Robert Dyas which is Lakeside Shopping Centre at Thurrock Essex and they have in stock ( incase any other local MSE'rs want the info):

Cream jug and Sugar Bowl £4.99

    Cup and Saucer £1.99

Cereal Bowls (set of 2) £1.99

    Meat Platter £4.99

Thanks SammyFace. I dont drink tea or coffee but just wondered for when in "entertain" people now that i am all posh with my Royal Doulton dinner set :p :rotfl:

Now I'm totally depressed - desperately want the cereal bowls and milk and sugar so I went onto Google Maps. My nearest store is 427 miles away.:eek::eek:

Well I received 2 of my 10 sets today. Gave them a call and apparently the other 8 sets went on the wrong delivery van. :( Hope they turn up.

Would love the salt and pepper, jug, sugar bowl and cereal bowls but no Robert Dyas near me either. :(
