I mashed up a mango and stuck it in the freezer with some natural yoghurt yesterday. It was a lovely snack, but it would have been perfect with a mixture of cream and yoghurt. Not ice cream, but a quick snack of that variety anyway. And no eggs.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

heaps of things to try out - I knew you guys would come up trumps. It always amazes me on this forum because whatever question you ask someone always knows the answer!
As I had some cream in I went for the orange juice icecream today which was so easy and delicious served with scrunched up meringue nests. Tomorrow I'm going to do the storecupboard one and I've printed out the thread so I can try some of those fruit ones too - just need it to stay sunny now...0 -
Anyone can make this easy ice cream? It's really simple and you don't need an ice cream machine, just a rigid freezer proof container with a tight fitting lid. I've used milk chocolate chips but you could swap them for plain or white if you prefer.
Ingredients
600ml fresh ready-made custard
150ml strong black coffee
300ml double cream
50g milk chocolate chips
Method
1. Put the custard in a bowl and stir in the coffee. Softly whip the cream and fold into the mixture, along with the chocolate chips. Pour the mixture into a freezer container and cover with a tight fitting lid.
2. Place the container in the freezer for 2 hours, then beat with a fork to break up the ice crystals. Return to the freezer and repeat the process after another 2 hours. Return to the freezer until completely frozen. Please Thank Me

i've made raspberry ice cream using a tin of custard some double cream and a load of bruised rasps. Put them all in the liquidizer, then transferred to an old ice cream tub or plastic bowl. Put it in the freezer and left it for a few hours until it was semi set. Took it out gave it a whisk with my electric whisk and put it back into the freezer. mmmmmmmhh! lovely"A banker is a fellow who lends you his umbrella when the sun is shining, but wants it back the minute it begins to rain."
