Another £150 paid off my water arrears. Hopefully when I'm paid later this month I will be able to clear this debt. It will be such a boost to cross one off the list.

Thanks to you all. I couldn't have done it without the motivation I get when I read all the posts on this thread. :T

Can I join in on this one too please? I had joined the 10 in 10 challenge but was chatting to OH this weekend and we really need to spend some money on the house this next year so need to challenge myself more. Really exciting stuff - new septic tank and oil tank! So I've decided to go for £10500 on the debt which will clear it and £9500 on savings/house improvements. Total £20000!! Hopefully the jobs we need to do won't be this much and any left over can be put towards a holiday in 2011!

Not sure how I'm going to do this yet - will have start scouring the boards for ideas. Recieved a cheque from music magpie this weekend for some old CDs and dvds so will pay that off as soon as it clears. Have also made a small start today paying £31.01 off my CC.

So off to catch up on this thread and scour the other boards for ideas! Good luck everyone!
    20K by Xmas 2010 (10 in 10 challenge - debt):

    Savings: £0 / £9500
  • well im off the mark, only by a little amount of £30.19 but hey its a start.

Am looking forward to watching the fingure rise, knowing one day when all the debts are gone....this could be how our savings account looks!!

Am really chuffed with myself as havent used the credit cards at all this christmas, still got quite a bit of shopping to do but am hoping that i'll manage through without resorting to them- that will be the first biggest challenge of my DFW year!

Me too! At least I am using my Tesco credit card to earn the clubcard points but I am writing down everything I spend on it and transferring the money over from my current account.
It is so easy to slip things on the credit card & forget about them.

Can I join please. Its a good starting point. Never been in debt before and a story behind how I have managed to get £17000 debt in just over 2 months! Couldnt believe how easy it was to just get money! Anyway. I want to sign up for a realistic (but stretching) £15000 by Dec 31st 2010. Have no ideas yet how to go about it but I am sure that I can pick lots up from here. I will have to start a debt free diary too.
Wish me luck and I look forward to all of the support.
