Orange user calling a Vodaphone User while in Ireland on Hol...free??

Im an orange pay monthly customer, my boyfriend is on Vodaphone pay monthly...
he is going over to Ireland next week for 1 week...If i call him will it cost me? or cost to recieve texts or calls from him??
I was speaking to an orange advisor and they said it wont cost because its a UK Mobile number im calling and cos its only Ireland which is semi close to UK?? I got cut off from the call before i could double check this...rubbish signal round here grrrr

Cost to you will be the same as if he were here. He'll get charged for receiving the call, I don't know what Voda's roaming cost are at the moment...0
