One closed at the end of the summer at London Colney. We got some quite good stuff there but it was quite random. Got some book on lee scratch perry and a copenhagen lonely planet £1 each. Spent about a tenner. Some for presents, some have sold on amazon.
Interested to go, to see whats there, so keep each other posted as to where they are :beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
We've just been in as we had a call from the ma in law panicking to say our Xmas pressies were Borders vouchers and she had phoned them up and they told her that it was best to use them today by the close of business. So off we toddled and chose stuff to the value of the voucher to be told they would only take half the face value of the voucher and we had pay for the other half. So basically we have had to pay for half of our own Xmas pressies or do without. I felt sorry for the poor staff as they must have been having to explain it all day and they could all be losing their jobs. I suppose at least we got something from the vouchers and it was 20% off most stuff and normally when companies go into administration the vouchers would be worthless, but I just thought I would warn anyone else who has a voucher.0

The funny thing is I love going into Borders with my DD who is 6 and spending time in the kid's section. We would read books together on the comfy seats and never felt pressured by any of the staff. It was a much more enjoyable experience than going into W H Smith or Waterstones. I guess it was like a mini day out.
The trouble was I would then go home and look online for the books she had enjoyed at places like The Book People, Redhouse Books and The Book Depository! where they were much cheaper.
So how guilty do I feel?.....VERY!!!Excited for Florida - May 2012 :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
