Inserting images?

Firstly appologies if this has been covered elsewhere, tried searching but all I got was was an old thread about using img tags.
I tried using the [img][ /img] tags to insert an image hosted on my personal webspace however get the error "Sorry as a new user you are not allowed to post with links. This is done to stop spammers clogging up the site. Please edit your message below to continue." Is there a period of time as a 'newbie' I have to wait before being allowed to post an image or has linking been completely removed ? Regards, Jock_Tight

A combination of both a minimum time and post-count allegedly, after which you should be OK.
